4 Wineries & 1 Brewery

Cherished memories are made of experiences ...

I have a new memory to share with you, my daughter Christen and son-in-law Zach's sixth wedding anniversary wine trip. Mike and I were fortunate enough to be invited as guests on their chauffeur driven wine tour to four wineries and one brewery in Northern Virginia. I still can't believe wine_cheese_basket that they have been married six years. I prayed when my girls were young that God would pair them with the perfect person to share their lives with, and God did, both of my girls husbands love wine 🙂

The first winery was about a half hour away so I brought a picnic basket with snacks to enjoy along the way.

Our first and my personal favorite winery we visited was the Two Twisted Posts and their wines were AMAZING, they had the best Chardonnay I have ever tasted. It was a 2012 Chardonnay that is a gold medal winner. I could talk about its tropical and oak flavor but that's not what makes this wine stand above all other Chardonnays, it's the buttery finish that makes this wine stand out from all others. If you are a Chardonnay lover this is a must try for you! I am also a big Vidal Blanc fan and their's is outstanding, if you are looking for a crisp, light and a little sweet wine, this is for you.

We then visited the Adroit Theory Brewing Company, where we had so much fun tasting 6 of their 24 beers. We would have tasted more but we had three other wineries to visit. They have great tasting beers such as the Zero - Bourbon |BA Coffee IPA - Barrel Aged (Smooth Ambler) 7.9%. The  tasting room was rustic and inviting with wine barrel tables and a comfortable bar displaying their large selection of outstanding beer with unique names and tastes such as  The Devil Made Me - Bourbon and CULT 011: Great Balls of Fire |BA. If you like beer than put this brewery on you must see list.

Creek's Edge Winery was beautiful with excellent wine plus they offered some delicious snacks such as this hummus. The tasting room was open, airy and beautiful with a fireplace and comfortable furniture. A great place to enjoy a glass of wine and relax with friends and family.  I was partial to the Rosé but all their wines were nice!

The Barns at Hamilton Station was our final stop. I really liked the atmosphere here where we were able to sit on the porch and enjoy a glass of Sangria while gazing at the beautiful view.  All their wines were great but I bought a bottle of their 1910 Red Dessert (port like) wine because that was fantastic!

I want to take this opportunity to thank Christen and Zach for letting Mike & I be apart of their special day, it will be a treasured memory that I will never forget.

Cheers - Carrie
