About the Author
Zach Davis is an award-winning writer and playwright, delighting in the dark whimsy of speculative fiction. Zach’s publishers and producers include the Berkeley Fiction Review, Carve, The First Line, Drunk Monkeys, Gravel, Zeider’s American Dream Theater, and The Push Comedy Theater, respectively. Zach's goal is to become a full-time comedic writer and improviser on the screen, stage, and page.
Zach is a regular improv performer at the Push Comedy Theater in Norfolk, Virginia. Zach has studied short and long form improv comedy, both standard and musical. He's trained with well-known artists such as Andel Sudik, Director, The Second City, at the iO Theater, and David Montgomery, Faculty, at the Second City Theater, both located in Chicago, Illinois. Zach has co-led corporate workshops on improv training for business for 50+ participants and currently teaches introductory improv courses at the Push Comedy Theater, delivering advanced improv classes (e.g., The Bevy) upon request.
Zach is a sketch comedy writer and performer. Zach studied sketch comedy with the Upright Citizens Brigade and the Push Comedy Theater and has performed alongside seminal artists such as Kevin McDonald of Kids in the Hall in Kevin McDonald, Superstar. He's currently a member of several sketch comedy writing groups and hosts his own sketch show, The Comedy Sketchbook, in Norfolk, VA.
Zach also performs stand-up comedy across the Hampton Roads area.
