Chenin blanc

(shen in blahnk) An off dry (semi sweet) white wine that's initially from France. Because of it's acidity & sweetness it pairs well with Asian and pork dishes with a sweet/sour taste. South Africa produces a dryer version that is slightly oaked
Region: → France → Now S. Africa & International
Aromas: herb, spice, flower, mineral, earth
Flavors: passion fruit, apple, pear, peach (nutmeg & butterscotch in oaked versions)

Bougrier ‘V’ Vouvray

from $19.99
This Chenin Blanc is from the Loire Valley of France called Bougrier 'V' Vouvray. It is an off-dry white wine with a nose of honey, burnt sugar and a touch of spice costing $19.99. The spectacular aromas were only a teaser of the outstanding taste that followed. The flavors of pears, peaches and hints of hazelnut stood out to me in this medium bodied, zesty fruit bursting wine.
