Dwarf wheat & why it may be killing you…
If you are tired, often sick, have mental fog, weight gain, depression, memory problems, can’t lose weight, or have no energy to work out, you may want to stop eating wheat – here’s why…
Our bodies process carbohydrates, fat and proteins differently.
When you eat anything made with wheat (cake, pasta, bread, cookies, donuts, cereal, crackers, pancakes, etc) your body coverts it to glucose (sugar). The pancreas works harder to produce insulin to maintain the balance of blood glucose and salt in the body. When you overwork your pancreas for an extended period of time it wears out and stops working correctly, resulting in Type 2 diabetes.
I always thought 100% whole wheat as heart healthy, but after reading the book “Wheat Belly” by Dr. William Davis, I’ve changed my mind.
Did you know:
- that two pieces of whole wheat bread increases your blood sugar level higher than a single candy bar?
- that small low-density lipoprotein (LDL) particles form after eating lots of carbohydrates?
- Lots of small LDL proteins are responsible for atherosclerotic plaque which can cause strokes, heart attacks and heart disease.
- Wheat and sugar-free diets have been shown to improve heart health and reduce or eliminate medication in these patients.
- wheat is hybridized – In the 1950’s Nobel prize-winning scientist Norman Borlaug introduced the hardy dwarf wheat we use today. The problem is it contains sodium azide a toxin and other components that aren’t easily digested. Some scientist now suspect that this hybrid wheat is now responsible for an array of problems including the increase in: diabetes, celiac disease, obesity, kidney failure, Epilepsy and seizure disorders, depression, hair loss, restless legs syndrome, schizophrenia, Bell’s palsy, bipolar disease, migraines, tremor and spasms, multiple sclerosis, autoimmune disease, neuropathy, autism and many others.
- eating too many carbohydrates = too much Sugar in the blood = bad health.
I personally cut out most sugar and flour in January and lost over 20 pounds, my high blood pressure is now in the normal to low range. I no longer have hot flashes. I feel wonderful and don’t have cravings for carbs unless I start eating them. Yes the first two weeks were awful getting off my carb addiction but it got simpler after that. I personally find it easier to stop eating wheat then to use moderation. Kind of like smoking, is one cigarette going to kill me, probably not but it’s not good for me. I don’t want to keep something in my life that has no health improving value.
So if you aren’t feeling well or having health problems you may want to try eliminating wheat and sugar from your diet. It takes about two to four weeks being wheat free to see measurable results.
