My Amsterdam painting is finished.
Back in May Mike & I went to Europe and I fell in love with Amsterdam. I loved all the different gable roofs, the skinny buildings, the canals, and the tiny cars. Everyone was friendly and most of the people either walked or rode bicycles. We enjoyed fresh cheese from local shops and delicious meals in quaint cafes. We walked by coffee shops where people were smoking rather than sipping. We visited art museums featuring Danish painters such as Vincent van Gogh and Rembrandt.
I was inspired by this beautiful city and decided I wanted to create a painting with some of the highlights that intrigued me most. I took several photos and then started sketching. My mind sees things differently than my eyes. This painting shows my interpretation of Amsterdam. I used acrylic paint and all the details are done with a tiny brush. I thought it would be fun to track my progress with this project and share it with you, photos are below.

Amsterdam isn’t noted for any particular wine, but they have plenty of it. I usually ordered either a glass of house red or white and I was never disappointed.
The finished painting is hanging in my bedroom.
Here are a few of my other paintings:

Barbados
