Who loves pizza & wine that’s fast, healthy & easy to make?
The following four pizza recipes are delicious, easy to make and I have paired them with the perfect wines. If you don’t have time to make pizza just use the wine guide for pairing recommendations.
Here is your quick quide on how to pair wine with pizza…
Let the sauce pave the way for your pairing:
- Red sauce with heavy meat toppings; go for heavy dark red wine such as Cabernet Sauvigon
- Red sauce with light toppings; go for lighter reds and blush wines such as Pinot Noir or White Zinfandel
- White sauce pizza; is perfect for Chardonnay
- White Hawaiian pizza with ham and pineapple; pairs great with Germain Rieslings (sweet wine)
For the party
- 6-8 attendees – 1 pizza per couple
- one bottle of wine per pizza (you can always have a few extra bottles if needed)
Pizza 1 – Fontina, Caramelized-Onion, and Pancetta Pizza
Wine – I’d pair this one with Pinot Grigio (German Riesling if you like sweet wine)
